The Best Strap But Not Easy to Get

0 5/5 Librarius42 - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Carryspeed Fs-Slim Prime Quick Release Neoprene Sling Neck Strap (Accessory) This is simply the best camera strap I have ever seen. Get one if you can - you won't regret it.Update: A mixed experience here. As fans of Carryspeed know, this is probably the best camera strap ever made. The design is perfect and the craftsmanship is first rate. However, Carryspeed is having patent problems and their future is uncertain. There are knock-offs surfacing now with variations on the name. Also the Carryspeed website has been pirated. I ordered the strap from Turtleback, Ltd because it was the only source I could find at the time. Delivery from Hong Kong took three weeks, and with shipping the strap cost over $90.00! I absolutely love the strap, but you might not find it worth the hassle. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 10, 2014

You cannot find a better camera sling.

0 5/5 Jerry Bottenfield (Louisville, Colorado United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Carryspeed Fs-Slim Prime Quick Release Neoprene Sling Neck Strap (Accessory) The quality of this strap/sling far surpasses anything on the market. The quality of the metal components is crazy good, the machining is incredible, the thinking behind the design is light years ahead of others. Quality, quality, quality. I could not be more impressed. Designed and made in the USA. Very comfortable neoprene strap pad, I think the wider strap would be overkill for a DSLR. Why it is not more widely available is a mystery to me 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 5, 2014

    Great Strap

0 5/5 Gustavo Franco - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Focus F-1 Anti-Slip Quick Rapid Shoulder Sling Belt Neck Strap for Camera SLR Dslr Black (Electronics) I've been looking at different straps for about 3 weeks before I settled on this one. I was a bit worry when I first ordered it because at that time the company and strap didn't have any reviews. I ordered May 5, 2014 and the order was supposed to arrive June 17, 2014. To my surprise it actually arrived May 14, 2014. So far the quality is on par with more expensive straps and it fits nice and snug like a glove. The camera feels incredibly secure compared to a normal around the neck strap. This weekend I'm taking it out for an event shoot using a 70d, a 24-70 Tamron and a 600 ex-rt flash. The gear should put a considarable amount of weight on the strap and I'll be able to review how well the comfort level holds up. For now it's a must buy over any around the neck strap and kudos to the vendor for the early delivery. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 16, 2014

0 4/5 Ponskippa (Texas, USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Focus F-1 Anti-Slip Quick Rapid Shoulder Sling Belt Neck Strap for Camera SLR Dslr Black (Electronics) Purchased this to carry my little Fuji X100S on my side and have easy access when i need it. I still get nervous about letting it dangle on my side with no hands on it, but I think i'll get over that fear in time. I also bought it because i can still carry another camera around my neck with neckstrap and "dual wield" so to speak. Works great, i've carried a DSLR around my neck and my Fuji on my hip.Build quality is top notch, no loose strings or stitching. Carabiner seems solid enough.2 Cons for meFirst is ( and this could be because I am a big tall boy) 6ft 230 lbs. The camera tends to bounce around a little too much on my side. I'm afraid it will loosen the mount with all the movement.Secondly , you have to remove the mounting screw to access the battery and memory card compartment on my Fuji X100S every time. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 8, 2014

Viewfinder makes DSLR Video a breeze

The ability of digital SLRs to take high definition video has turned the video world upside down. In particular, Magic Lantern firmware has enabled raw HD video of quality that far surpasses that which can be achieved with most camcorders. The main disadvantages are the lack of continuous autofocus, the inability to see the LCD screen in sunlight, the difficulty in focusing on the tiny screens (even 3.2" looks tiny to me), and the difficulty in holding the camera steady at a distance of 14-16" in front of your eyes.A viewfinder helps solve all of these problems. My previous experience was with the Hoodman viewfinder. The very cheap optics and inadequate method of fastening the viewfinder to the camera with straps made this unacceptable. The gold standard of viewfinders is the Zacuto Z-Finder Pro. However, this is terribly expensive. After much research I decided on the Carry Speed VF-4 viewfinder. 0 4/5 Tara - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: NEW Photography & Cinema PNC VF-4 LCD Universal View Finder FOR DV Camera LED Light SLR B (Camera) I'm really happy with this, but the diopter adjustment is extremely limited. I don't know what it is in numbers, but on my camera I have the diopter just 1 click off of center, and on this I have to adjust it all the way in one direction and it needs one more click. Otherwise it is well designed and helps a lot for manual focusing. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 8, 2013

good product, but fit issues with Panasonic GH3

For the most part, I am pleased with this product purchase. Unfortunately, demo videos on the Carryspeed web site claim it will fit "any DSLR", but it does not fit the Panasonic GH3 without a few extra steps. I understand that one-size-fits-all doesn't always apply, but it does take some value away from this product for my use.The mostly good:This is a well made loupe for cameras, and can definitely help when shooting in bright sunlight, as well as add an extra point of contact (your face) for more stable shots. The glass magnifier/diopter seems to be of decent optical quality for a product in this price range. The diopter area flips up so you have access to your camera's screen, which is handy when viewing it with others or if your camera's screen has touch capabilities. The mounting system will fit various, but not all cameras. There are adjustments for vertical and horizontal positioning of the VF4. The fore/aft adjustment is very limited, but... 4/5 David J. OMG What an AWESOME strap!

I was looking for a different neck strap and stumbled upon the Black Rapid RS-Sport strap. Did my research on some photography forums and the Black Rapid Website and then bought the RS-Sport; OMG! it's the most awesome camera gear addition I've made to my kit. This well designed and well built strap is a leap forward in camera gear for all who are annoyed by the traditional camera strap. I have neck issues and getting the weight of my Nikon DSLR off my neck was a must for my health and well being to enjoy a day of shooting pictures without soreness or a hot sweaty neck. At the same time having the camera safe at my side while still instantly ready to shoot is a dream comes true. It's super comfortable and I can wear it for hours. The bigger the lens the better it hangs at your side, my little 35mm f1.8 prime on the camera feels weightless when I wear the strap. Put on the 70-300mm and you'll know it's there but still very comfortable and the lens hangs down and lens and camera stay... 5/5 DaveM - See all my reviews I was looking for a different neck strap and stumbled upon the Black Rapid RS-Sport strap. Incredible strap but needs a few minor improvements

I saw this at a photography expo and ordered one after trying it on. I will admit that it takes the weight of the camera off you so it's hardly noticeable. Fantastic fit, didn't slide. Make sure you've adjusted the length so your palm is right where you hold the body when shooting so you just reach down, pick up, and shoot.A few things I didn't like about it. the strap was a little short, i'm a medium sized guy 5'9", 210 lbs, so it may be too short for even beefier and taller guys. When you're doing shots near the ground, you have to be careful so it doesn't drag. For artistic angled shots away from my body, I don't like having to remove the camera. And the last thing is that once i've adjusted the strap length, I wish it would stay that way even when I take off the harness, but I find myself having to adjust the length each time.If you can live with the things I mentioned above, it is a remarkable strap and tons of improvement over the manufacturer's... 4/5 James Edward "james edward photography" (Dallas, TX) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Much better than RS-4

If you're reading through reviews of this product you're either deciding if you want to upgrade your camera strap (stock)for a sling-type or you've already made that decision and are trying to figure out which BlackRapid to buy. If you're still thinking on buying a BlackRapid stop... just buy one and feel the difference. There are tons of reviews already that talk about the enormous difference compared to the regular straps. This means having my camera with me (and ready to shoot) for almost ANY situation, without all the problems with the regular straps.I first bought the RS-4. I decided to use the strap for just grabbing my camera and go. No lens, no tripod... just in case I see a good photo opportunity with my kids. Having storage at the strap was interesting for me. I checked some reviews and videos and the RS-5 looked too bulky so I went immediately for the RS-4. Comparing the RS-4 with the normal strap you notice right away the difference. We bought this strap to replace the neck strap that came with our D5100. This is my first experience with a sling strap so my review is from the perspective of someone considering this over a neck strap, not someone weighing the features and benefits of different sling straps. The strap arrived in a nice compact box and you can tell it is quality by the way it was packed and the quality of the metal and plastic parts. Adjusting and fitting was quick and easy as was installing the grommet on the camera. I read a few reviews from people who say the connector on the camera came loose and dropped the cameras. I can only imagine they did not use the rubber washer that comes with it, they didn't tighten it properly, or they were wearing it while bouncing on a pogo stick or riding a skate board on a half pipe. After I hand-tightened it to the camera my wife was unable to remove it without using the carabiner as a lever. Functions great, slightly cheap materials on straps

The sling is easy to wear, and functions great. To be honest, I was worried about having my 4000$+ worth of camera hanging upside down from one attachment point. however, The mounting screw and the clip are all pretty darn solid. Rather nifty, Wish I ordered an extra screw for my other cameras. After that though, everything else feels cheap. The materials for the strap are thin and don't seem like they would take too much friction or abuse. (2 things my slings get a lot of)The stitching seems like its just enough. I wish however, that it was super overkill, I mean this is holding up 4000$+ of equipment. The buckle is nothing durable, its a cheap ABS snap. Will replace that with a much stronger snap.Wish I had ordered just the Screw mount and the Clip. Could have used my extra actual Rifle sling which is much, much stronger.I am a Combat Camera currently deployed so this will get some abuse. Finally, a pro viewfinder magnifier for the Nikon D800

Almost all the other viewfinder magnifiers out there are primarily for Canon and have fit issues on a Nikon. I saw this Carry Speed VF-4 at NAB 2013 on the last day, but they were sold out. They are finally restocked and offered a $50 coupon promotion. My VF-4 arrived yesterday via registered US mail. I had to sign for it. I was glad I was home or I'd have had to stand in line at the post office which, believe me, is not pleasant. The VF-4 is exactly what I hoped it to be.- adjustable -- the mounting brackets allow precise positioning for the D800, but also for a variety of other cameras. Brackets allow a broad range of left/right and up/down adjustment, then can be locked very securely in place with Allen head screws (Allen wrench is supplied.)- sized right -- you can see the entire D800 LCD screen, yet still easily reach all the control buttons on the camera back- built-in diopter adjustment and good optics -- the screen is sharp corner... 4/5 Daniel A. Baseplate Issues

0 3/5 chaseman - See all my reviews This review is from: Brand New Kamerar VF-4+ Plus Universal LCD View Finder with Extend Bracket for Dv Camera LED Light SLR B (Camera) The VF-4 LCD viewfinder is just what I needed for my Nikon D7100. It fits very well and makes shooting video in daylight situations a breeze, however the baseplate has a MAJOR FLAW. As I loosened the red set screw which appears to be aluminum or similar lightweight metal it became jammed in the baseplate as if it were cross threaded. The viewfinder was loose enough to slide out but now it will not tighten back due to the jammed screw. The only possible fix, other than a new one, would be to drill out the existing set screw and rethread the hole. Not what I expected or wanted to do. Since their web site is currently down, I have no way to contact them for a replacement base as mine should still be under warranty. I understand things happen but this is a huge inconvenience. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 1, 2013

Subway Car Within the Metal Tags For Bags

subways, subway station, london, new york, san
With the 1930s came the widespread use of stainless steel for carbodies. The typical passenger car was now much lighter than its "heavyweight" wood cousins of old. The new "lightweight" and streamlined cars carried passengers in speed and comfort to an extent that had not been experienced to date. Aluminum and Cor-Ten steel were also used in lightweight car construction, but stainless steel was the preferred material for carbodies. It isn't the lightest of materials, nor is it the least expensive, but stainless steel cars could be, and often were, left unpainted except for the car's reporting marks that were required by law. By the end of the 1930s, railroads and carbuilders were debuting car body and interior styles that could only be dreamed of before. In 1937, the Pullman Company delivered the first cars equipped with roomettes – that is, the car's interior was sectioned off into compartments, much like the coaches that were still in widespread use across Europe. Pullman's roomettes, however, were designed with the single traveler in mind. The roomette featured a large picture window, a privacy door, a single fold-away bed, a sink and small toilet. The roomette's floor space was barely larger than the space taken up by the bed, but it allowed the traveler to ride in luxury compared to the multilevel semiprivate berths of old. The higher clearances in North America enabled a major advancement in passenger car design, bi-level (double-decker) commuter coaches that could hold more passengers. These cars started to become common in the United States in the 1960s, and were adopted by Amtrak for the Superliner design as well as by many other railroads and manufacturers. By the year 2000 double-deckers rivaled single level cars in use around the world. While intercity passenger rail travel declined in America, ridership continued to increase in other parts of the world. With the increase came an increased use of newer technology on existing and new equipment. The Spanish company Talgo began experimenting in the 1940s with technology that would enable the axles to steer into a curve, allowing the train to move around the curve at a higher speed. The steering axles evolved into mechanisms that would also tilt the passenger car as it entered a curve to counter the centrifugal force experienced by the train, further increasing speeds on existing track.[2] Today, Talgo trains are used in many places in Europe and they have also found a home in North America on some short and medium distance routes such as Eugene, Oregon, to Vancouver, British Columbia.
