Very nice SDHC card with very fast read speeds... but there are more affordable cards with comparable quality out there

This Sony SDHC card is a pretty nice memory card. Although it is labeled to read up to 40 Mb/sec, I found that I actually got better speeds when reading from the card. I consistently got up to 64Mb/sec read speed...which is blazingly fast. Considering that Class 10 SDHC cards only have to meet 10 Mb/sec minimum requirements, this card went well above and beyond. I bought this card to use with my new Canon T3i DSLR camera, so this speed is coming in handy. In fact, if you are buying a card to use with a high resolution digital camera or hd camcorder... I wouldn't recommend getting a card that is slower than a Class 10 card. With that being said, I would highly recommend this card for such purposes. It has one of the fastest 'read' speeds I have come across in an SD card. I haven't yet tested the 'write speed' yet but I will post the results once I do.Now, although this card works very well... it isn't the most affordable card I've come across. I posted this about the Transcend 32 GB SDHC card that was getting trashed in reviews by Canon owners. It also applies to the Sony card (read down), and readers may find it helpful in evaluating SD cards in general. The 1-star threads on the Transcend are like watching a committee of blind men describing an elephant. Unsurprisingly, no one has the complete picture, but a lot of Canon owners think these cards are bogus. SD card technology is very complex, the Class system is often misunderstood, and there is a long history of compromised cards appearing on eBay -- or even from reputable dealers who have been hoodwinked. Kingston cards are most often faked (or taken from the midnight production run); that's because Kingston has about a third of the flash card market and doesn't forge their own chips, but any manufacturer can be spoofed. Nice Card - Sony Won't Recognize the Model for Warranty

I was delighted to get this at a very reasonable price, especially with the high data transfer rates listed. It arrived in retail packaging for US market, "made in Taiwan" and just as pictured in the listing. It passed the disk check without any issue and formatted perfectly in my device. I can't comment on the UHS-1 speed as I do not have a device capable of that speed - so the actual transfer speed on my equipment is no different than my other Class 10 memory cards. The reason I'm giving it only four stars (rather than five, as I normally would do for something that works without any issues) is that I am unable to get the Sony website to recognize the model or serial number for product warranty registration. I don't expect I'll ever need it - but it means that I can't download and use the "File Rescue" recovery software promised with the card because that needs a recognizable model and serial number to download. Maybe this particular model is too new for Sony to have... 4/5 Kentucky Colonel (Huron County, MI) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) The original and only Battlestar Galactica!!!

What can I say? This is the one thing that kept me sane as a teenager growing up in a one parent household, not even a house, but a town home rental in low income housing. School was HELL ON EARTH!! I was the oldest of three and also had to play the part of brother and father!! I am gratefull that I had the example of Captain Apollo (Richard Hatch) and Adama (Lorne Green) who became good role models at a very difficult time in my life, they helped shape me into the good person I am today. Thank you Glen Larson, the creator of Battlestar Galactica and the fine cast!! I will remember you all for the rest of my life!!Tim 5/5 T. Battlestar Galactica Original Series Still Rocks!

I was a kid when Battlestar Galactica hit the movie theaters and became a television show. I think I was 12 years old at the time. Anyway, I loved it almost as much I loved Star Trek (TOS). My favorite character was Starbuck, the brash, cocky young Viper Pilot who was not only a ladies' man, but the best pilot Galactica had. And Athena, played by Maren Jensen, was the hottest woman (still is from my account, though she gave up Hollywood years ago) on any television show, with Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter) a close second! This episode was as cheesy and wonderful as any other. Four of the Galactica's Vipers encounter orbs of light while on patrol. They are soon overtaken by a large, crystalline like structure that disables the Vipers and their pilots. On the Galactica, a Triad match is going on between pilots. After the game, Colonel Tigh and Commander Adama brief the pilots concerning the situation of the missing Viper patrol. While on patrol, Apollo, Starbuck, and Sheba... 5/5 Todd Giardina "Spongebob Fan" (Peoria, IL USA) - See all my reviews, September 11, 2011

    anti-glare but NOT anti-smudge

No anti-glare screen protector is 100% invisible--if you want an invisible screen protector, buy an invisible screen protector. It's affordable and it does its job, so I give it a 4/5.ANTI-GLARE: Does a decent job of diffusing glare; this will probably make the device easier to read outside in the shade.ANTI-FINGERPRINT: Fingerprints are less noticeable when you are not in bright light (i.e. outside directly in the sun). HOWEVER, when the screen brightness is turned down, or you are in a bright lighting, smudges are just as noticeable.SENSITIVITY: No noticeable degradation in touchscreen sensitivity.NOTE: instructions are wrong--there is only one layer of peel-off film, not two. Comes with a screen cloth. 4/5 tightsandtea - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Had a great experience with Tech Armor when I bought my last screen protector for my Galaxy S3. Once again their screen protector and their service did not disappoint. I watched their video and read the instructions again before the installing the screen protector on my nexus as they advised. Must read the pro tips with tape trick because that is the secret to the perfect install. My Nexus is now glare and fingerprint free. Thanks Tech Armor. Excellent Non-Glare Screen Protector for Nexus 7

I hate glossy screens. With each new device I acquire, the first thing I do is order a matte or non-glare screen protector. With my collection of Android phones, my iPad 2, iPod Touch, and several Android tablets, I have used many matte screen protectors. The Tech Armor Anti-Glare & Anti-Fingerprint Screen Protector is the best so far. It went on easily with no bubbles. It is truly non-glare and makes the screen more readable in many lighting situations. Best of all is its paper-like texture. Works great with a stylus or finger. 5/5 sgbassett - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent product.

GGS screen protectors ( back and top) fit perfect to my 5D Mark II back and top LCDs. The only think I don't like are the letters "5D/50D"at the bottom frame on the back screen. Very good protection...

I like this glass protector screen.Fits quite nearly perfectly. The "mask" area on mine is perhaps a quarter mm too large all around. It just barely cuts into the picture area of the screen... just barely. If you look at a very slight angle, you can see the whole screen. Thats why its got a 4 vs 5 rating.I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Waiting for one for the 7d camera too. 4/5 Charlie B - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) 100% Brand New. Free of temperature and humidity.
It uses a 0.5mm ultrathin optical glass with at least 90% transmittance. With high transparency, the image is displayed in focus when applied.
Its hardness and durability is as high as 8H and its elasticity and flexibility is 12kg/cm2,preventing from being rubbed, scraped and bumped.
Matching quite well on the digital camera after applied.
It prevents the LCD screen to be infracted by sweat stain, smear, acid and alkali element and prolongs the life of the screen.

    Great scanners, great software

Don't get too worked up by the negative reviews calling the Epson Scan software "junk." It isn't. I read enough of the other reviews to convince me to download a copy of Vuescan and try it out right away. True, Vuescan has a lot of film profiles that should be more accurate than the limited number Epson uses, but the trouble with Vuescan and this V600 scanner--in my experience--is that the frames for batch scanning a group of negatives were not accurate, and it was more than a little confusing, if not impossible, to change the frames around. This feature of Vuescan is very confusing your first couple of times around, and I lost patience and shut the program down. Then, thinking I'd better try the Epson software before considering returning the scanner, I opened Epson Scan. I went straight to "Professional" mode, checked out all the parameters they allow adjustment to, selected what I wanted, and clicked "Preview." This is scanning two strips of negatives, mind you. Epson V600 works for me!

I did quite a bit of research before buying this unit, so I had a pretty good idea what I was getting into. Of course, there were some concerns about software, etc., but I went in with an open mind.First, this unit does a superb job of scanning both slides and film, so that part worked out very well. At first, I scanned at 4800 dpi, but after a bit, realized that 3600 dpi was more than enough resolution for most pictures. People have said that the carrier is flimsy, but it wasn't a problem. Tip -- when scanning a lot of slides, tape the left and bottom sides of the carrier to the scanner chassis (not the glass). You can quickly drop slides into the slots and later remove them, without the carrier shifting.A lot of people were put off by the Epson software, and suggested Vuescan. I demo'd Vuescan, and wasn't impressed. Why spend a bunch of time modifying the image before the scan, when it is so much easier to make adjustments later in Photoshop 7... 5/5 DR McKenzie (Sacramento area, CA, United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent Film Scanner on a Budget

Pros:Easy to useGreat results with film, 6x7, 645, and 135 (35mm)Cons:Software is a bit clunkyDigital ICE can do bizarre thingsLargest Improvements Over V500:Can now scan four 645 or three 6x7 negatives at a time (spec is 6x22cm).Bottom Line:Great deal for a flatbed scanner that is designed primarily for film and graphic arts use. I don't think I would upgrade from the V500 unless you scan a lot of medium format film, and even then it might be worth checking to see if the new medium format insert would work in the V500 (I don't know if it would or not). The software is the same as the V500.One of the large bottlenecks of the V500 is that it will only scan two 645 negatives at a time. Since I usually cut in strips of 3, this is a problem. It means I had to scan each strip twice, once to get two of the images, and a second time to get the third. This means I had to 10 scans to get through a roll of... 5/5 E. Can be used with Playstation 3 160GB SLIM - PS3 (read for additional info)

I bought this for longer power cable with my 160GB Slim PS3 - IT WORKS :Dthe only issue I had (at first) with this cable is it doesn't go all the way in, I think they made the tip longer so it might accommodate most/all devices with this type of cable requirement. The tip of the cable where it plugs into the PS3 sticks out a little BUT the connection is secure, its actually a little hard to take out, but that could be a good thing. I'd rather it be tight and secure then falling out during a movie or game.THANKS :) 5/5 KGUN (US-EAST) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good product.

This cable works just fine, and the added length gives me good flexibility for where I sit with my laptop. 5/5 jeannieju "jeannieju" (Florida) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Whoa!

Holy smokes. If a friend had handed me his camera in this case and asked, "What do you think the case cost?" I would have replied, " I dunno, a buck fifty?" If you had shown me this case and told me it cost $150.00 I wouldn't have batted an eye. The quality of the material, the lining, the hardware, the fit, the craftsmanship, the design... it all screams quality. As an old geezer I LOVE the retro look that my state of the art G-15 is packed in. Takes me back to the 50's and 60's. Which you Gen-whatevers should embrace as cool... 'cause it is.I am amazed, amazed that I paid just 35 bucks for this case. One reviewer complained about the awkwardness of the case dangling from the bottom snap. Well, that is awkward. And it bugged me at first. But I unintentionally unsnapped one side snap and the bottom snap, leaving the case to hang from the other side snap and this proved to be a very manageable arrangement, freeing you from having to pull the front cover off... 5/5 Dale L. A Quality case, giving good protection for your G15

I am so glad I saw this case as a recommended accessory for the G15, which I bought my wife for Christmas. It is a classy looking case, very well made, 'real leather' look (see update comment), and a good design. I know there are others who criticize the design, saying it is impractical. The case has 3 snaps which secure the case to the camera, plus a knurled tripod nut mount that screws the case onto the camera. So if all the snaps are open, the flip-lid of the case can be removed, leaving a leather case protecting the sides and bottom surfaces of the G15. If you are using the camera at home, you may want to remove the flip lid while using the camera. However, the snaps are designed to allow you to use the case with the flip lid attached. You unsnap the bottom snap and flip the lid back toward you and push it down. The two side snaps act like hinges, letting you rotate the lid back over the camera. You now have access to the entire LCD and rear control buttons....ALL of the controls... 5/5 P. Kalina (Midland, MI USA) - See all my reviews, December 29, 2012

Very nice little case for the money

Just received it today .. very pleased with it so far. It appears to be well constructed - no obvious flaws with the material, stitching, or the snaps. It fits around the sx50 perfectly too. I was concerned that it would be more of a "generic" design, but it does have somewhat of a "custom molded" fit. The leather is fairly firm, not exactly 'thick', but not paper-thin flimsy either. Somewhere in-between the thickness of a belt and a wallet. The color is a rich looking chocolate brown ... much nicer in person than pictured. Looks more expensive than it was! It comes with a leather camera strap too. That also appears well-made and matches the case perfectly. This is not a "dust-free" case though, in that there are gaps (roughly 1"x2") on the sides to allow for the strap, so there will be an opening. It should offer minimal protection from scratches and dings if the camera is banged around, but it's unlikely to protect it from a significant fall. Overall, it's a nice case, compliments... 5/5 John Nash (Billerica MA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Perfect fit and a great price for my Canon SX50

This case fits perfectly and protects your camera against the bumps of carrying your camera around. As noted in other reviews this is not dust or water proof since it has slots for the strap to go through. However it will protect your camera and your lens from everyday bumps and scratches. It has a metal screw that holds the bottom onto the camera by screwing into the tripod mount. This screw is threaded as well so you can still use the tripod with this case attached. You will need to remove this case to swap batteries and cards. Also depending on the design of your tripod mount you may not be able to keep it attached to the case because there is a snap to hold the top portion of the cover onto the bottom portion. These are all minor niggles since this case is priced right for a form fitting well designed everyday carry case for your sx50. The snaps are solid and hold the case together very well. The leather is a very firm top grain leather that is study enough to protect from minor... 5/5 Russell J Claman - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) LOVE IT!

I wanted to protect the camera while I was wearing it and was tired of putting it into a camera bag. This works great! Fits the camera perfectly. The black looks very sleak. It comes with 2 pieces, one attaches to the camera body and can stay on permanently if you like. The cover wraps around the lens and snaps on and off very easy. I'm very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it. 5/5 Nicole Bixby - See all my reviews, February 7, 2013
